A trailer for the feature documentary titled 'The First Padres.' The film tells the story of San Diego's first professional baseball team, the Padres of the Pacific Coast League. From its inception in 1936 to its final season in 1968, the first Padres team in San Diego captured the mind of San Diegans and grew along with the city as it established itself on the west coast. The film features interviews with San Diego baseball historian Bill Swank; San Diego historian Rick Crawford; 2nd Baseman and Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr; 3rd baseman Rudy Regalado; Centerfielder Rod Graber; pitcher Ed Erautt; and family members and fans from 75 years ago to the present. Never before seen photos and newly uncovered archival footage give people an opportunity to see San Diego and baseball in America's Finest City as they never have before.
