This is a short animation for The Yellow Ball Project. Everyone was asked to create their own type of video. The only thing required was a yellow ball, which had to enter from the left and exit on the right. The final product is a 30 minute compilation of all sorts of Motion Graphics.
And here's my contribution.
I based the concept on my favourite iPhone-app: Tiny Wings. The style is very similar to Andreas Illiger’s design, but instead of going for a paper texture, I went for a wooden one. Since animation isn’t my major, I had to do a lot of research on character design, movement, compositions and color. You’ll find all sorts of things here, all inspired and taken from Kung Fu Panda, Legend of Korra, Pokemon and heck, even Johnny Bravo.
I drew everything using Adobe Illustrator and then animated it with Adobe After Effects. Sound Design was then done with Logic Pro.
Hope you enjoy!
