A documentary shows a desert experiment in which a balloon is used to draw the attention of an actual unmanned drone. Documentary footage and text come together to illustrate an experiment involving a large oblong balloon in the desert. The balloon, which is visually stunning, is also “seen” by nearby surveillance. Relating to advanced military technology and California’s desert as a site of such production, the experiment serves as a political performance.
