Players Club takes over the techno tent at Solar Festival…
Following on from the launch party at Es Vive in Ibiza – watch out for the official after-movie coming soon – Players Club comes back with an almighty bang on August 5 to take over the techno tent at this year’s Solar Weekend Festival in Roermond, Holland. The massive line-up for this Dutch extravaganza includes Robert Hood with an A/V live show, Ben Sims, James Ruskin, Mark Broom, Break 3000 of Dirt Crew, Mr O of the Detroit Grand Pubahs, Gareth Whitehead & My Evil Twiin and Mingus.
The Players Club arena features themed ‘players’ visuals provided by Lucid Interval, Robert Hood’s live show VJ, and alongside a headline slot from Detroit’s minimal master, the techno and house ‘players’ include Theory’s Ben Sims, Blueprint main man James Ruskin, Beard Man and longtime UK techno champion Mark Broom, Dirt Crew’s deep house expert Break 3000, Detroit Grand Pubahs electro-funk maverick Mr O, Bulletdodge’s own Gareth Whitehead and My Evil Twiin, plus local homegrown DJ Mingus. Bringing their ‘players’ collaborative ethos to the event, you may well find some DJ tag team and guest spots also spicing up the party action!
Solar Weekend is a creative crossover festival with a diverse music and art program celebrating its eighth edition. Boasting 8 arenas of all genres of music in themed venues alongside other activities such as painting, karaoke, graffiti art, yoga workshops, air guitar competitions, bed badminton and much more. The line-up consists of dance music and hip-hop, from underground to pop and also other genres and art forms.
The festival is set around the shores of the recreational lake Maasplassen in Roermond, the south of the Netherlands. Providing unique stage sets with a circus meets beach like environment, if there is one festival to pick this year that flies the true Glastonbury free spirited flag, make sure the Solar Weekend is it!
As Roger Dassen one of the artist bookers for all the event says, “After a couple of years having organised Players Club parties at the back stage area of Solar’s Techno Arena, packing the place with their ‘Players’, and slowly taking over, it was time to bring this party to the front stage and share the ‘Players’ with everyone!”
If that wasn’t enough Players Club also host the afterparty to the Saturday night for the campers with Robert Hood performing a DJ set alongside EPM’s own Oliver Way, and Extrema’s Roger Dassen aka DJ RHO.
EQTV will be on hand to capture all the action behind and in front of the decks. Anyone from anywhere in the world with internet will be able to catch some of the action during The Players Club live from Solar with the special audio/visual live show from Robert Hood at 8.30-9.30pm (CET) broadcast live via the EPM Youtube channel at youtube.com/user/EPMmusicVideos
Front and back stage footage from the night, exclusive interviews and the archived sets will be on The Players Club Youtube channel the following week: youtube.com/user/Theplayersevent
