RADLIB Live @ Gramercy Theatre, NYC, May 2012
Armed with 2 x Soundblaster compatible laptops from last century, Radlib is the man taking the sound of the YMF262 back where it belongs: onto stage!! Combining programmed FM sounds with meaty 8bit samples his inspiration stems heavily from the ’90s but has resulted in the chunkiest and cheekiest electro-dance you've never heard from an Adlib / SB16 combo! Add to that to a Blip Festival crowd late on a Sat night and you have a winning combo. Feel now, the Radlib effect!
The venue had uhhhh “banned” video streaming at the event (don't ask) so a bunch of us shot the show on cheap but functional Powershot's, dropped a cheeky GoPro on-stage, hid some mics up back and obtained a direct line from Radlib's stage mixer. The digi cameras stopped filming every 7 or so mins, an SD card failed (lost 8 mins on the wide angle!), BA's camera developed hardcore dead pixels in places, and there was lots of shuffling around trying to find the best angle. Tech issues were all worked around in the edit (why it took so long!) and has been cut and graded at a legit post facility and taken though an audio mastering stage. We dearly hope you enjoy watching this as much as we do. Shot with full permission from all artists involved ;-)
