We have departed from Marrakech towards Foum Zguid, facing the amazing High Atlas, looking for a track that would feed our souls. And again dancing with Nitin Sawhney (Homelands), for me with everything to do with Morocco. Here i was with Migo (the son) sharing the life, the room, the car, the adventure. With no dogmas or conventions. Simply letting the souls to merge in freedom, with emotions alive, with love and the spirit of sharing accepting, giving with those that cross our ways. The happiness in every step of the way. I started this adventure I was not in the mood of representing the father role of saying one more thing, pointing another direction, painting a specific horizon, somehow always trying to have control. Maybe, unplugging the fathersonian and let the friendship grow. My work as a father is finished. Everything I wanted to pass to him, it has been done during our previous life. The mind free, the reason and the emotion, the love and the tolerance, the responsibility and the competence, and adventure that life should be. He will know to decide what is good for him and what it is not.
And what kind of example gives my generation to theirs. A mediocre society, corrupt, with no shame at all, giving the example that crime compensate, the cheap talking works, selling friges in the Antartida is a way to go. We had in front of us the possibility of a magnificent period of sustainability, with the technological development that with intelligence we built, and that should lead us to a more sustainable, balanced and fair life. Building a world where the hard times our ancesters had to cross, was not to be repeated. Easy acess to all learning stages, justice for all, good health care, support in elderness. We dreamnt on that, started the way and suddenly, in the middle of the track…
… due to a crazy out of proportion ambition, we just blew the thing. And know here it is the invoice to pay. And all the things we wanted to overcome are again pending over our own, and especially in the heads of our children.
It is curious to notice that the global crisis of economics was provoqued by economists. To Miguel (studying economics in the university) i just have to say…IT DOESN’T WORK. But he will know that better than me.
