Cultivating hatred towards other people and races, the myth of death by means of persistent propaganda took an unmistakable place in the hearts of young Germans.
In schools the song "Germany's oath" by Rudolf Alexander Schröder from 1914 was taught and sung, and the Nazis used it for their national anthem. The anthem with its sinister vision singled out a verse that says:
"In the stars it stands
in what we swear;
he who manages the stars,
He will hear us.
Before from you a stranger
Takes from you your crown,
We will Germany, fall
side by side. "
