In what seems like a lifetime ago, I worked in Indianapolis with the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee - which is basically an unpaid internship. I joined this group with three phenomenal women, one of which happened to be Ms. Alex Morley. We hit it off right away, and after serving on the committee together for nearly three years, I knew that we had a lifelong friendship.
Just after my wife and I got married in 2008, Emily and I drove up to Hartford to see Alex and John at their new place. Even though I had never met John, I was immediately welcomed with a firm handshake and an invitation to unlimited beverages and bacon-wrapped shrimp. I knew that I liked him from that very moment.
After I posted my first 'real' wedding of Darrell and Lacie Stuckey, Alex was the first person to call and actually book me as a 'professional'. She also informed me that one of John and Alex's favorite activities is to attend the world's largest disco, which is held in Buffalo every year. I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long, long time. It lived up to every one of my expectations.
Even though the day started with rain, the clouds burned off and it ended up being a beautiful day for a wedding.
Alex and John - thank you for your hospitality, thank you for your friendship, and thank you for the bacon-wrapped shrimp. Congratulations!
