Welcome to What’s for Snack. Today, we will be making spinach bars.
The tools that you will need are a knife and cutting board, large mixing bowl, measuring spoon, and measuring cup, a 9x13 baking dish, a whisk, and a wooden spoon.
The ingredients that you will use are: 1 package frozen spinach (thawed and drained), 3 eggs, 1 cup of 1% milk, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1-1/2 teaspoons of garlic powder, 1 small onion chopped, 4 cups cheddar cheese shredded.
Directions: wash hands and have a clean cooking area. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Peel and chop the onion.
Coat the baking dish with cooking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together 3 eggs, milk, flour, salt, pepper, baking powder, and garlic.
Pour into the mixing bowl spinach, onions, and cheese.
Mix using the whisk, pour into baking dish, and place in oven for 30 minutes. Have an adult help you.
This is what they will look like. Each 3-inch square is 140 calories.
Hmmm. Let’s try one.
