Muklis Ismail was fortunate to have survived the 2004 tsunami in Sumatra. He took his small family business from near ruin to a bakery who's product is distributed hundreds of kilometers from his village. He and his bakery are a testimony to the resilient and courageous spirit of the Acehnese people in the wake of the tsunami.
Nusa Indah Bakery strives to produce a product that not only makes a profit, but also helps others. Whether that's employing dozens of local people at fair wages or making bread that is free of many harmful preservatives, they work with integrity at every step of the process.
