Project n.01 Andrea Nacciarriti THE POETIC MODE
Andrea Nacciarriti's project transposes the production mode of the factory "supplier-process-customer" into a poetic action.
He transforms the woodden boxes used to pack the factory products into containers of memory and information.
He asks the employees to write a short essay about their working experience, not just at Bernard Controls, but all along their life.
They are let free to sign or not their texts and include or not their addresses and /or phone numbers .
The notebooks with these private thoughts together with some small objects or tools reminding them of their working time, will be put in the boxes.
The boxes will be sealed and sent away from the factory.
In Caochangdi village they will be delivered with a local salunche to people randomly chosen who live and work in the area.
These people will open the boxes, read the content and chose to get in touch with the workers or not, or to send their thoughts and feedbacks to Bernard Controls.
This not functional and no-profit production mode gives a poetic value to the workers' thoughts and memories and aims at share it with other people.
It also gives the artistic gesture a full immaterial quality and turn it into a social practice experiment.
