Kolea is a mixed media sculpture by Pacific Northwest artist, Ross Matteson. It was first debuted at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum's 2020 "Prix 'de West Invitational Fine Art Exhibition". This lyrical and informative, approximately 8 minute long video, documents the complex and resourceful process used in making this sculpture of a Pacific Golden Plover - from start to finish. It also shares some informative life-history on this remarkable species which is called Kolea in Hawaiian.
