The work of Deep Ecology in Hawaii was so special, so unique that local, national and international did dozens and dozens of stories about it. As a marine conservation social enterprise that employed direct action the results were simply unparalleled;
1) Several tons of marine debris removed from Hawaiian beaches.
2) 13 'Ghost Net' recoveries, two beyond 150 ft. deep.
3) Over 50 endangered Green Sea Turtle rescues.
4) Leaders in the campaign to create the first marine sanctuary on the North Shore of Oahu. A miraculous task considering less than 1% of Hawaii's coastline is protected.
