I thought that certain types of 2D movie scenes might still have enough information to allow a credible 3D stereoscopic effect. So I experimented last night on a short clip from the BBC's Doctor Who series. Two versions of the experiments output are here in this video. The first demo requires the RED/BLUE glasses to see the 3D effect, (red lens on left side) the second demo requires no glasses but you must cross your eyes. Pause the video were it asks you to. You will see two sections of text side by side. Slowly cross your eyes until you see a third text section appear and crystalize into a clear 3D image with the letters "3D" sticking out of the screen. Keep your eyes fixed on this and restart the video, watch the center image only.
