Shot on Red Epic with anamorphic lenses on location in London.
I’m very pleased to be able to finally show this commercial that I wrote and directed. This is a test commercial which means it will probably never air on television but it was a fantastic opportunity to be able to create a showreel piece that ticked a lot of the boxes of my directorial strengths in one 90 second piece. I’m very proud of this work.
It was shot on the Red Epic using anamorphic lenses by the wonderful DoP Alessandra Scherillo. Production Design was by Marco Puig and edited by the stupidly talented Matt Felstead of Loaded Dice. Grading by Framestore and online/FX by the lovely folks at Absolute Post. Produced (and dragged kicking and screaming onto the screen with a limited budget) by Bryony Harrison.
The cast are Richard Hollingworth and his younger version is played by the ridiculously talented young actor Rhys Duggan. Such a pleasure to work with. Jessica Blake plays the female spark. Thanks to the rest of the cast Suzanna Hughes, Kristian Wall, Violet McDonald, Danuelle Sambrook and John Lacey.
…and the music? It was rearranged by Richard Bodgers and performed by Emily Isherwood a brand new talent who I found on YouTube only to discover she didn’t live far from my composer. Fate, eh?
A sincere thanks to the rest of the crew for giving up your time to help me make this lovely little film.
