During Apollo 16, Honeysuckle Creek video tech Ed von Renouard took his Super 8 movie camera in to the station.
He captured some brief clips of TV which were seen at Honeysuckle, but not at Houston.
Note that the TV is noisier than was broadcast in the US, since it is "raw", and was not cleaned up in real time by Image Transform in Los Angeles. (John Lowry’s Image Transform processed the Apollo 16 and 17 TV for NASA.)
Thanks to Ed von Renouard for the footage, and to Tim Emblem-English and David Woods for their help in getting the film transfer. Thanks to Eric Jones for his help with the timing.
Dedicated to the men and women of NASA’s Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station.
