PPS uses a high-powered ground penetrating radar (GPR) to track, identify and detail the location and depth of any metallic or non-metallic underground water, gas, electrical, telecommunication, fibre optic, sewer and stormwater services as well as significant tree roots. Not only does that minimise the risk associated with exploratory excavation; it increases the efficiency of clearing blockages below the surface.
This is then followed by hydro-excavation or ‘potholing’, a form of non-destructive digging and vacuum loading that exposes the area around the services for visual inspection prior to regular excavation, further decreasing the risk of damage significantly.
Using these two devices, we can excavate the area, remove the soil and have the area tidy in a fraction of the time it would take manually.
