The Back Alley Gallery (BAG) is an open air gallery showcasing works by a collective of artists in the laneways of Lismore. The project to date has included thirteen artists from Lismore, Byron Bay, Murwillumbah, Nimbin, Coffs Harbour, Brisbane, and Germany. Each design is at the artist's discretion and includes graff art, street art, large scale murals, paste ups, stencils, yarn bombing, installations and more. The laneways are now engaging and activating with people travelling to see the art, events taking place here including the Uni Games Back Alley Gallery Breakfast for over 450 students, the Lismore Lantern Parade with 30,000 people attending the event and it is popping up virally on people's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and also as the backdrop for photoshoots including for websites and weddings. There is still so much to be done. The vision is to see The Back Alley Gallery open air gallery be on exhibition further throughout the Lismore City Centre with works of various styles, a wall designated for artists travelling through which would change each month, a community wall for people to leave comments, notes, inspirational quotes and so forthand regular workshops for aspiring street artists. Piece by Peace is a documentary/short film about the project - the artists and movement of street art in Lismore.
