Director: Francis Mitchell
Date July 19, 2012
From August 2 to August 23 2012, Goodfellas Gallery is pleased to be displaying the much-anticipated solo exhibition “Jezebel” of Canadian artist Kestin Cornwall.
In celebration of Cornwall’s exhibition, "Jezebel" will be taking us through a varied collection of original mixed media paintings and screen prints. Many of his influences include American Street Art, Asian, Egyptian and Sri Lankan culture, with a complimenting factor of mystery. The exhibition will reflect timeless depictions reflecting pop culture, as well as the ever-changing role in modern society for women. Each piece depicts an analysis of our obsession with beauty, age and change using American, Egyptian, Sri Lankan symbolism and contemporary techniques. Acting as a synthesis of Cornwall’s practice, his mixed media paintings will also be accompanied by a custom designed and painted set of tables. Alongside his new body of work, two large works with fellow Studio Calavera artist Jon Todd, will be released on the opening night. The exhibition will also showcase both large and small works as well as a limited edition screen-print of local model and socialite Tania Z.
"Jezebel" Opening reception Thursday August 2nd 2012 6pm -11pm Running August 2nd – August 23rd 2012 at Goodfellas Gallery 1266 Queen Street West Toronto On, Canada.
