CG eye replacement due to need for new, 3D camera and eye animation/spider integration. Responsible for texture and lookdev on eye, as well as rig and procedural animation. Spider lookdev and groom also. Responsible for lighting.
Eye was half flat projection, and half lit at render time, meaning many layers were set up for comp to have high control.
High res textures with procedural base across 40 UDIMs for all proximities. Asset wrangled and set up for non-Euclidean portal effect when seeing inside. Utility maps used for multiple versions of the portal, using different decals.
Coast photo scanned from location drone footage and textured from provided cameras and other sources. More detail added in-material for displacement and grass micro-bump.
Responsible for butterfly asset except groom. Two variations created - one orange Monarch butterfly with realistic proportions, and a stylised variant using shading inspired by the Blue Morpho.
Animated hatching shot using nCloth and shot sculpting to deform the chrysalis.
