The San Diego Sheriff's Department recently held an active shooter training in San Marcos. NBC San Diego's Gene Cubbision reports on the exercise at Palomar College.
Deputies have to go into a building, rescue the injured and hostages, find the gunman and restore safety.
Capt. Mike Barnett who heads the San Marcos Sheriff's Station says: "We hope we never get this call, but we want our deputies to be ready as well as to have the tools and training to handle the situation if they happen."
