A Forensic Document Examiner examines evidence in order to determine the origin, authenticity or authorship of documents in a variety of crimes. Is the signature genuine? Who wrote the note? Is it a forgery? The ink, paper, writing tools, ribbons, stamps and seals used in production of the document may all reveal important clues. Forensic Document Examiners need a sharp eye for detail. They use the principles of chemistry and physics along with technology and software to reveal erasures or substitutions not visible to the human eye.
