This movie is just for fun and study with Thinking Particles SC Joint.
Making joint itself is based on the method we can see in Joe Scarr's DVD. Once taking object into TP, joints will be created automatically.I made 2 types of joints. One is sphere joint for general joints and the other is fixed joint for locking pillar on the ground. When I make joints for locking pillars on the ground, I use intersect node then shooting ray only downward. Only the particle shapes that is close to the ground can make joint for ground.
This building looks like having hundreds of pieces but actually one object. Once taking it into TP, we can detach each pieces using fragment operator then we can handle as individual particle shapes.Therefore, we don't need to have so many numbers of object in the scene.
But I had one problem. When I use intersect node to make world position for joints,if I want to increase the number of object, max has crushed every time. So I changed to using expression that calculate average position between 2 particles.Now TP is getting stable.
