Structurally-informed and fabrication-specific digital stereotomy revisits and extends the art of building complex stone geometries with discrete blocks, possible through computational optimization strategies for design, CNC fabrication, and assembly. In collaboration with industry partners, the development of unique stone-cut structures are pushed, generated with state-of-the art form finding tools, such as RhinoVAULT, and realized with the latest fabrication and construction technologies. The vault shown in the video has been built using rapid prototyping and stands just by gravity and friction.
