At the conclusion of the Franciscan Sisters, T.O.R. week long Community Retreat, as a way of thanking the sisters who served on the retreat hospitality team, Sr. Agnes Thérèse wrote this parody song. The video only shows part of the song, but you can read the full lyrics below! When it came time for our annual retreat
We were hoping we could do it all at once
But we realized that we'd need a retreat staff
Or we'd be distracted, wondering what's for lunch.
And we have prayed for many hours
And you have cooked and been assessed
And in our diversity of tasks,
We've all served the one we love the best. la le la la
You picked up our good friend, Fr. Gregory
From the airport, and you did it with such grace
And it seems from all the prayer support you gave,
We'd be doing well just to keep a pace.
In our silence, no we have not been alone
Because in your work you all were silent, too.
And I don't know when you did recreate, because I
Did not hear a single peep from you.
And as if that were not all quite enough,
You have cooked and kept the house so clean
And to top it all, you've delighted our dear Lord
By some lovely music in the liturgy.
