The Keenan's are a well-respected family. Silently they have kept their secrets and watched the family fall apart over the recent years and their daughter Carrie's alcohol problems getting worse and worse, up to an extent where she is unable to live without it.
In an attempt to try and take over the business, Carrie tries to blackmail her father Derek, into signing over control of his business. Resenting her family, she threatens to publish damaging information about him if he does not give her what she wants.
Wanting to protect his career, Derek sets up an intervention with the whole family to get his daughter to see sense. But this gathering turns out to be different than expected, as family secrets are unveiled that no one has mentioned for decades. The consequences are huge. And it is only when the family accept their failings as a whole that they finally find back together again.
The Edge of Chaos is not just a story about addiction, it is a story about family, and how an addiction doesn't only affect the individual, but the people closest to them.
