This talk given by John Scanlon, Habitat Program Supervisor for Massachusetts Fisheries and Wildlife, will review the carbon budget for the 220,000 acres of MassWildlife lands in the context of climate change mitigation, which requires reduced short-term carbon emissions. Carbon impacts from conservation of rare and declining species will be addressed. Conservation practices on our 21st century landscape will be linked back to land use history across Massachusetts.
