A PhD Student in Education and an Instructional Designer from the University of Wyo- ming Outreach School present on how to engage students in the online classroom with the latest instructional technology tools. They’ll provide research-based information and students’ perspectives about what truly engages them. They’ll also share how these free technologies can be easily implemented into an online class. Athena and Cody will share how peer-to-peer online interaction including chat, podcasting, wikis and academic social networking leads to higher engagement and community-building among online students. Exciting educational technologies such as TED-Ed, Voki’s, Pol- lEverywhere, FaceTime and more will be demonstrated. Participants will leave this session empowered to integrate new technologies into their classrooms.
