A sleeping military giant is rumbling. After World War II Japan was required to implement a peace constitution with Article 9 limiting its military and banning overseas operations. But forces in the military-industrial complex, encouraged by the US, have pushed through the Diet a referendum by 2010 on whether to abolish Article 9. As a world we are at a crossroads. This film is a dialogue among Japanese and US lawyers about the significance of preserving Article 9 and its role in world peace. Produced by Eric Sirotkin'a Ubuntuworks (ubuntuworks.com )and the International Committee of the National Lawyers Guild's Working Group on Article 9.(nlginternational.org).
