Fabian und seine Familie verstecken sich in einem Keller in ihrer Heimatstadt Offenburg und hoffen, dass der Krieg sie verschont. Als der Krieg jedoch auch dort ankommt, entschließt sich die Familie zu fliehen. Dabei wird Fabian von einem Tagebuch, einem Geschenk seines großen Bruders Marco, begleitet, welches ihn stets an die Zeit vor dem Krieg erinnern soll.

Fabian and his family are hiding in a cellar in their hometown of Offenburg and hope that the war will spare them. But when the war arrives there, the family decides to flee. Fabian is accompanied by a diary; a gift from his big brother Marco, which will always remind him of the time before the war.
