Last month in July, some of the Fitted Life fam headed out to Oahu, Hawaii for a nice summer vacation. This was also a great trip for me as well as I was born in Wahiawa on Oahu. It's been about 7 years since I last visited Hawaii and things have sure changed! There's a lot more commercial development on the Honolulu side, lots of more people on the island, and Zippy's went back to fast food. I totally had a feeling that back then when we visited, Zippy's had a restaurant side (though I've heard that there are still some places that include the restaurant side). But things that haven't changed are the beautiful sights and sounds of Hawaii, and oh don't forget about the food! Ono grinds!

We had some of our relatives come along, so we toured them around the island. It was priceless seeing how amazed my relatives were and the countless times my auntie said she wanted to go back! Hawaii is truly one of a kind and I totally get where my auntie is coming from. We just couldn't get enough of it!

For this trip I decided to test out my video skills and limit myself to shooting only video. It was weird to switch my mindset to shooting video only since I came from a photography background. However, all was well and I packed my SD cards with plenty of footage to work with. Of course, in the filmmakers world, plenty of footage, whether it be hours and hours of footage, could eventually end up as long as a minute and a half film, which was my case.

Another interesting piece of this film was the addition of the GoPro footage that I shot while snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. I modified the GoPro lens with a BlurFix flat lens and the footage came out pretty decent and sharp. I had to incorporate some extensive color correcting to fix the underwater footage and after a little fine tuning, the footage came out nice. I still have a feeling there's room for improvement, but I will keep these details in mind for next time.

We can't wait to head back to Hawaii and share more stories about the island for our readers. We all hope you enjoy the film! Lock on to Fitted Life for more stories that fuel our culture.
