No matter how solitary farming may sometimes seem, it’s a world that’s surprisingly close knit and connected. I met Dana Ravello through his sister, who had graduated from Sterling College, a Sustainable Ag school in Vermont, where I’ve visited often and have grown to love – the school and the Vermont.
Dana had just arrived in Santa Rosa and was settling in as an apprentice farmer at a school where friends kids were enrolled, and thriving. I wondered how he’d adapt from the glamorous world of Michelin starred restaurants to the scruffy, sunny acres of a school in the middle of the County. I needn’t have worried. As you’ll see in this lovely video story, his head, and his heart, are in the exact right places.
