A look at the curious color/luma shift between Daylight and Tungsten on the GH2 using a ColorChecker Classic. I also look at the noise in the blue and red channels when underexposing. I used an Arri 650 Fresnel at full flood - with and without a CTB gel so I could keep the angle, and position identical for a better comparison.
**For those who are curious if this shift is a product of the CTB Gel: I got the same shift from actual sunlight as well. And further: I went on to test this with other conditions and found that it occurs with both hacked and unhacked GH2s, regardless of WB method, and regardless if shot with CTB Gels or actual daylight**
(By "Balanced for 18% Gray", I mean that the exposure is balanced to put 18% Gray at 50IRE - White balance was dialed in using the custom white balance function)
GH2 w/ Quantum ver. 9B - 24H
I'd be curious to see this test on other single sensor CMOS cameras to see if this is a universal issue, or just a GH2 issue.
