This 2007 documentary of the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade features a replica of the infamous 18th century slave ship "The Zong" . The ship was the centre-piece of the events in London and the focus of national attention. It sailed up the river Thames with a Royal Navy escort, passed under Tower Bridge to the sound of "Amazing Grace" and moored opposite HMS Belfast. An exhibition of slavery past and present was formally opened by the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, accompanied by members of Parliament and the national press and TV.
