For generations Tennebekk Forest has been a popular hiking area, and resource for the people of Bergen. It has a small beach, and has been used as a reservoir in the past.
It also plays an important historic part of Bergen, in addition to old stone fences, and cabins, it also has old building used as prison camps by the Germans during the 2nd World War.
Tennebekk Forest is also affectionately known as Canada Forest, nicknamed by the boy scouts back in 1918, which it's referred to, to this day.
