The iconic Alma Mater statue at the University of Illinois in Urbana was moved from its pedestal Tuesday, August 7 for restoration. It's the first time the statue has been moved since the 1981. Alma and her two sidekicks, Labor and Learning, will be taken to a restoration business in Forest Park, Illinois for renovation. She's expected to be back on her perch near Wright and Green in time for Commencement in May 2013. Video shot by the new TV2 HD cameras by Ken Erdey.
