“Blessed Is The Nation Whose God Is The Lord”
All nations have been founded upon some type of theistic or anti-theistic principle whether the Hinduism of India, the Confucianism of China, the Mohammedanism of Saudi Arabia, or the atheism of the former Soviet Union. When we consider America, if we are familiar with our history, we know that this nation was founded upon Christ and His Word. There is no doubt that America was built upon Christ-centered faith. No other proclaimed deity has been centered in the well documented historical papers, early charters and compacts (like the famous Mayflower Compact), covenants and constitutions. When the Supreme Court studied the matter in 1892 and poured over all the original documents, they concluded with one unanimous, unambiguous voice: “This is a Christian nation.” This nation was founded so that men and women could freely worship Jehovah God apart from state-controlled oppressions. The founding fathers of this country never intended for America to be a poly-theistic nation and certainly not an atheistic government.
The Bible asks, “If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do?” These early American foundations are quickly being destroyed all around us at every level. From the White House, we are encouraged to embrace all faiths. In the School House, every vestige of our Christian Heritage has been violated by historical revisionists who have removed the foundational facts from students’ textbook. And, in the Church House, we have become shamefully silent. The Bible says in Psalm 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into Hell and all nations that forget God.”
Christians are deceived to believe that America can be helped through mere political agendas. America is ripe for God’s judgment, and the only hope for its citizens is for the Church in America to awaken to its calling-The Great Commission. Prophetically, things do not look good for the United States. Yet, we must remember there are souls to rescue, and there are souls to save. We may never turn a hell-bent nation around, but we can still reach citizens one by one with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is what will make the difference in America. I thank God that I am an American; but, I am so glad that my eternal citizenship is in heaven. I await the day when I will rule and reign with Christ my King in His government of which shall be no end.
