PROCLAIMING AUGUST 5-11, 2012 “NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK” IN LINCOLN COUNTY
WHEREAS, Lincoln County is fortunate to have two Primary Care Community Health Centers and four School Based Health Centers providing services to uninsured and medically underserved people as well as the broader community; and
WHEREAS, Lincoln Community Health Centers expand access to quality health care for all people and contain health care costs by fostering prevention and integrating the delivery of primary care with aggressive outreach, patient education, translation and other enabling services; and
WHEREAS, Lincoln Community Health Centers have made great strides in the Lincoln County health care system, specifically by maintaining high standards of accountability, demonstrating cost effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of care, and empowering communities to address unmet health needs, reduce health disparities, and reduce preventable deaths, costly disabilities, and communicable disease; and
WHEREAS, there is a continuing need to support implementation of Community Health Centers throughout Lincoln County as part of Lincoln County’s enduring commitment to the provision of quality primary health care; and
WHEREAS, Health Centers promote 100% access and zero health disparities to help achieve health care for all people;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners declares August 5-11, 2012 as National Health Center Week in Lincoln County, Oregon and encourages all citizens to join in the observance and urges citizens to recognize the important contributions of Health Centers in safeguarding health and improving the quality of life for all people.
