The Authority Transfer Ceremony on the 8th of August 2012 was the event that would welcome Libya's newly elected congress, 200 representatives taking their seats and the National Transitional Council bidding farewell after their year in office.
It was a proud historic moment for Libyans and no more so than for Sarah El-Mesallati who was chosen to present the ceremony. However the congressman from Misrata, Salah El Din Badi was unhappy about the choice of presenter and made his feelings known, sparking an incident that would spark a national debate on women's place in public spaces. This film interviews Sarah, Salah El Din and captures some of the reactions to the controversial event.
