Friends of Gospel Rock, a local citizen group in Gibsons, British Columbia want to have an area known as Gospel Rock protected for the community. For almost 30 years this conflict in land use has been before the Town - the community feels like Gospel Rock belongs to them as public lands and always has, they have a great attachment to the spectacular landscape and a concern for the sensitive and rare eco-system it supports. On the other hand the out-of-town land developer representing shareholders has other interests. What will the Town do?
Loretta Maclam contacted me in an effort to have her film completed. I strung out her existing SD footage to see what the story structure would be revealed. I worked with Loretta to determine the missing content and then set up and shot 8 interviews in 8 locations in one day. I spent an additional day capturing b-roll in order to get her story told.
