Higher education is being transformed by COVID-19. As the world continues to grapple with the pandemic and the resulting economic shockwaves, tertiary education providers are trying to plan for a ‘new normal’ that relies on digital practices.
To better understand how this is reshaping higher education, both in the near and medium term, IFC, in association with L.E.K. Consulting’s Global Education Practice, conducted an extensive survey of providers and students around the world. Thirty-five higher education institutions and more than 17,000 students were interviewed about the impact of the pandemic on the provision of education and students’ educational experience.
In the third webinar in our IFC Education Webinar Series, we shared the results and insights gained from this study. The authors were joined IFC’s education experts to discuss which regions adapted best to digital learning, which digital tools saw the greatest uptick in use, and how this ongoing experience may shift demand for in-person, online, and blended learning.
