You've heard of the "World's Best Donuts" in Grand Marais?
The Rev. Dr. Mary Ellen Ashcroft shares the story of the "World's Best Eucharist," which occurred very unexpectedly one Sunday at Spirit of the Wilderness - the Episcopal Church in Minnesota's newest faith community.
As founder of WindCradle Spiritual Renewal Center, Mary Ellen "holds open a space for people to claim their lives from distracted superficiality." An English professor for many years, Mary Ellen deeply values stories—how they shape us and how we shape them. Author of 7 books, including Dogspell: The Gospel According to Dog, The Magdalene Gospel, Spirited Women, Mary Ellen uses her brilliant creativity to come at spiritual truths in unique ways. Besides leading retreats, she has just finished a book called Heading Out, Reaching In: Deepening Spirituality in Nature, which puts together her passion for wilderness guiding and deepening spirituality.
This video was recorded on Tuesday, August 14 on Mary Ellen's front deck. The noise in the background are cars swishing by along Hwy 61 on the shore of Lake Superior.
