One of the values of looking at the map, the mesh and the human hive, is that it's kind of like shape-shifting. And one can see that the self-organizing is actually a quality that all living systems have, because they must adapt to their environment. And if they don't adapt, they die, so we need to have that kind of innovation. But if we don't lock in our learning, we become very inefficient users of energy. So living systems, really, when you look at our natural capital and ecologies, those that are most effective are using the least amount of energy to do whatever their purpose is.
