We visited Seka, a town 40 minutes outside of Jimma, to meet with the Woreda Education Bureau. The meeting went very smoothly because they were willing to meet us halfway in our efforts to improve the quality of primary education in Ilketenju. They agreed to place a teacher into every classroom that we built, which would help cut down the average class size for the students.
We then visited an elementary school in Seka built by the Japanese Embassy to get a sense of the budget necessary to build a school. The school principle dug out the budget plan for the school written by the Japanese Embassy & allowed us to use it as a reference for the building of our school.
After a side trip to a suk, a small shop, for Mirinda soda & bread, we hopped on a crowded minibus back to Jimma feeling very accomplished from the day.
