The early stages of artistic projects in relation to trees, sound frequencies and bells. This video was created in 2020, two years into Caroline Locke's Significant Trees project. Since then she has taken hundreds of frequency readings from different significant trees, nationally and internationally. Some of this data has been translated into compositions, soundscapes, performances, tuning forks and bells which continue to be part of her socially engaged arts practice. Caroline explores how sound and vibration can deepen our relationship with the natural world. By translating ecological data and tree frequencies into sound, she creates embodied experiences of environmental connection, inspiring reflection, action and stewardship through the transformative power of art.
