Top Team Schools Challenge involves a number of team based activities and challenges modeled on the old traditional Top Town competition that first aired on NZ television in 1976 (Where towns from around NZ competed against one another in a series of challenges) .Sport Canterbury has remodeled the old traditional Top Town and designed 25 new games to make it more applicable to primary, intermediate and secondary school aged children. Top Team games test teamwork, initiative, problem solving and communication skills. Students will be teamed up and compete against one another in a circuit of activity and obstacle stations.
The great thing about Top Team is that the best performers are the best "all round" team; therefore teams need to have people with a variety of different skills. Sport Canterbury has designed the activities specifically to cater to the needs of both sporty and non sporty students; this makes Top Team non threatening which builds confidence for non participating youth to participate in future events as well as being loads of fun. Top Team encourages maximum participation and fun!!
