“Iralalaru HPP” is a Bouvet Media documentary on a planned hydroelectric power plant in Lautem, East Timor (Timor-Leste). It shows principles for hydropower generation. Tetum with English subtext.
This project planned a hydropower plant that may produce cheap and reliable electricity for Timor-Leste for 100 years. It has a capacity to produce a maximum of 28 MW (million watts), or a total of 189 GWh (billion watt-hours) per year, to the low cost of 0.07 US dollars per kWh. This has the potential to save 50 million US dollars per year as compared to using diesel based generators, using a clean and renewable energy source.
“Iralalaru HPP” was filmed 2007–08. It was directed, filmed and edited by Basil Rolandsen for HydroTimor. A Bouvet Media Production.
