Angry Earth (1989)

Starring Sue Roderick and Donna Edwards.

The film charts the lives of South Wales family whose agricultural land had been stolen from them, forcing them to move from West Wales east and to the South. The history of Wales is told through the life of the fictional 110 year old woman. Gwen, played by Roderick, whose life has been shot through with challenge and tribulation. Her husband is killed in a pit accident, the army rape her. Gwen's trials mirror society's trials all around her. Donna Edwards brilliantly plays the character of a young carer stroke nurse, linking the modern history of her life with that of the close-to-dying, Gwen.
