Can this Sony FS700 outperform Canon 5D MKII, MKIII or even Sony F3 S-LOG even at ISO3200?
Tell us what you just saw?
At least on the European version of this camera there are several Picture Profiles (PP) which can be selected for different types of shooting. Let's say "low contrast high dynamic range PP5" for daylight and "noiseless PP3" for low light.
The best dynamic range, highlight and low contrast wise is the PP5 but this as well as other profiles have that so-so ISO performance often referred as a bit lower than FS100 or 5D MKII or III.
But here comes the mighty PP3, try it and you will be astonished by the results - it's on par with the best of the best when it comes to noise performance albeit it loses one stop or less of dynamic range. Try to push this footage in post (albeit it's recompressed).
We will be investigating all the 2000+ parameters in that picture profile to see what causes this sort of high ISO noise performance :)...
NB: QuickTime will destroy this footage when you watch the original, as it's output-levels-corrected (at least on PC).
