Lieutenant Detective Pat Glynn, Commander: Special Investigations/Narcotics Unit of the Quincy, Massachusetts Police Department, shares some impressive results, where opiate overdose deaths have been greatly reduced by officers carrying Naloxone, or Narcan. UPDATE: Glynn was awarded the 2012 “Advocate for Action” award by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. “Because of Lt. Det. Glynn’s leadership, Quincy’s Narcan program has become a model across the country. This program saves lives and gives people a second chance at changing their futures for the better,” Mayor Thomas Koch said in a release.
